Warranty

Hi,

We are selling our 8 month old, Kodiak Travel Trailer.
It still has 4 months of manufacturers warranty.
Is this warranty transferable?

Thanks

  • So not different than buying a used car, you get what is left. As for extended warranty, car or trailer we have always recieved a refund through the dealer, basically whatever the percent of it is unused.
  • If I recall, the manufacturers' 2 year warranty on our Jayco WhiteHawk was transferable once; moot point since that warranty is now expired. The service contract we purchased from the dealer (Interstate National Dealer Services 7 year service contract)is also transferable one time for a $70 fee.
  • Just got an email from Keystone, the warranty IS transferable:

    Good Morning Paul,

Thank you for contacting Keystone RV. Keystone warranty is one year from the original date of purchase, regardless of how many times it is sold. So to answer your question, yes…it is transferable.

If you have purchased an extended warranty through your selling dealer, you will need to contact them for details.

    Thank you,

  • You need to check with Kodiak to be sure, but GENERALLY, warranties are not transferrable.

    Of course there are exceptions.

A quick read of the warranty section of your owners manual should also answer your question.
