Thanks, Fargo. Will attempt.
vaguely recall some (2009/10/11?) video showing an obstacle course set up at a professional vehicle test site, where bed-to-cab movement measurements are taken (Toyota, Nissan, Dodge, Ford, Chevy) and compared (either the Ford or Chevy HD truck won this flex compare, and Dodge and Toyota had hellacious frame twisting, where their tailgates were damaged therefrom?).
Have you got the link "handy" ?

....me, too. Many of our roads around here are very similar, to worse! There are several parking lots I know of around us where you could high-center a 4x4 getting into and out of said.
....what is "flexi-frame" ?
search "frame flex" and "frame twist" on the you-tube - people video "tests" where they dis one make of truck or another... - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIISpotters were needed for THIS :H
- msiminoffExplorer IIFor the record, I drove that course.... and with a 3500 pound, 9 foot long, hard side TC in the bed of my truck!
True, It's not the kinda thing I'd want to do every day (especially not solo in the boonies), but it was a GREAT learning experience and having a Land Rover instructor in my passenger seat & another one spotting made me more comfortable in the technical parts of the course.
Gordon from TCM was there and even snapped a few photos of my rig which made it into his coverage of OX2013.
This course is reason enough to attend the Overland Expo. You can drive one of Land Rover's vehicles or test the capabilities of your own "wheeler" :)
-Mark - burningmanExplorer IIDid you notice the part at 1:47 in the video where the truck is balanced on it's right front and left rear wheels, then the video cuts away to another scene without actually showing it get through that part?
Unless it has a locking or limited-slip rear end (you could already tell it didn't have one up front) it may well have been stuck there, with the one unloaded rear tire and one unloaded front tire spinning uselessly.
I'd almost bet it did need help getting through that.
But still, cool and impressive rig, mine certainly couldn't go where it did! - Camp__Forrest__ExplorerAs much as I love independent front suspension for comfort, the solid front axle still rules off road.
