Washing the BEAST

Wow, I am bushed! Just got done washing the truck and camper. I am doing it the old fashioned way, bucket, sponge and a brush on a pole.
Then their is the drying! Holy Mackrel!

Anybody doing anything different?
  • Best way ever was in Guaymas, Mexico a few years ago.
    Paid a fellow 100 peso's about 8 dollars.
Wow did he ever do a nice job hand washing and drying my truck and camper.
  • ....I've been using the leaf blower on both trucks and the TC for 3 years now....who would have known :B

*the leaf blower also dries the complex wheel parts/disc brake parts very nicely, seriously reducing the rusty disc film after a wash

I use a wash and wax product and the only thing I dry is the windows and the truck itself. The camper dries spotlessly. It surprises me because I never believed in wash and wax as being effective.

Ive been using DriWash and Guard for over 10 years on all my RVs. If thats what you are using it can be applied directly to everything, even the windows. It cleans better than Windex. There is a reason they sell it at the RV shows to all those 40' Prevost owners. I would never use paste or spray wax again.
  • Go to Shurhold.com and checkout boat cleaning gear, Extending aluminium handles, chamois mop handles and soft or hard brush or spong attachment. The Chamois on a pole is great for windows.
  • Washing plumb tuckers me out too. I need to find that guy in Mexico to put some real wax on my camper. I'm not a fan of the "oxidized" look.

you supposed to wash them ?? why ???
doesn't it rain where you live ??

It rains enough here that your TC will look like a Chia Pet if you don't wash it. There are plenty on cars running around with organic paint jobs around this area...
  • I use a brush on a stick that looks like a kid's push broom. It works great and I can reach the top of the camper from the ground except the front whenit's on the truck.
