Washing TT roof, why do I get white dusty streaks after?

I washed our new to us TT last fall prior to winterizing (nothing fancy, '05 Fleetwood Pioneer 18T6). When I washed the roof with Camco's rubber roof cleaner and conditioner, I got white dusty streaks after.

Scared the life out of me. I thought I was going to lose the roof due to erosion. My roof is completely original (not one repair)and in excellent shape.

The roof had been neglected somewhat, it had been a while since it was washed for sure. It came up nice and bright white with product used as recommended by Camco. It rained a few days following and I had the white dust return as the rainwater washed the roof and drained into the gutter.

I'm thinking I might get a chance this weekend to wash it for the first time this year, and as most recommend I'm thinking I should do the roof first.

Questions:

Is the dusty white stuff normal?

I was told to wash the trailer from the bottom up, not top down - apparently this will help with streaking? The trailer is 'clean' (no road grime), just looking to remove black streaks.

Not notably, but I know what you mean. Our last home the water had to be sliced out of the tap, white residue on everything.

Now we live about 2Km's from this water fall.

I used to live 20 minutes from the same Falls on the Canadian side and had hard water. ;)
