Northern Central Oregon has many beautiful Camp Grounds. Great CG along Columbia Gorge but watch out for Train. You might be surprise you're camping next to a Railroad track.Highway 26 is one of main road going EAST from Portland . There is Trillium lake CG WITH GREAT VIEW of Mt Hood. Timothy Lake CGs, and Cascade Lake highway has a dozen or so great Forest Service CGs near lakes. Also great CG near Sister Oregon and Newberry volcanic national area near LA PINE Oregon.
