Water capacity on Jayco Jaylite 28 ft

I recently bought a used Jayco Jayfeather 28 ft TT. This is my first camper so I'm pretty much in the dark right now. Looks like most of the paperwork is still with it, but much of it is so generic as to be useless. so, maybe someone has an answer to this question:
-what is the fresh water storage capacity and the gray and black water storage capacity?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Great! Found it. Plan 29Y from 2005 - Jayco Jay Feather. That helps a lot. Since I bought a tank to take water out to the camper, I now have 2X the water I need.:)

We have essentially the same trailer... Ours is a 2004 29Y. :)

How large of a tank did you get? If my memory serves, aren't they all 30 gallon tanks?

Jayco has all their old sales brochures going back to the mid 90s on their site. Simply go to www.jayco.com, then under 'Shopping Tools' at the bottom, click 'Archives'. Use the drill-downs to find your trailer. :)

  • Flashgor, I am guessing freshwater to be 25-30 gallons I have roughly same size trailer and mine is 30 gallons, you could also get a rough estimate by filling the fresh water tank and the usual house flow rate is 5 gallons per minute and time how many minutes it takes to fill (5 minutes= 25 gallons) not exact but would give you some idea.
  • Go to google, type in year, make, model, and "specs" and do a search

ie: "2005 Jayco Jayfeather 28bh specs"

You should be able to find a site listing the specs. "EDIT" the site is RVGUIDE.com

Also go to NADA RV look up your trailer and you may find information. While searching numerous options prior to buying our RV I was able to find that type of info.

The Jayco site may have info listed under something like Support or Product Info.
  • What is the exact year and model number of the Trailer?

    WoodGlue
  • If it's used, you have to know the year; sounds dumb, but sometimes manufacs change capacities; and even from 1/2 year to 1/2 year.
Sometimes, by following the VIN #, it will give you a better understanding/idea of what exactly your entire specs are. HTH.
