Hi,
came back yesterday from our Florida Trip.
Thanks again for all the replys, worked as I got all the hints from you folks.
I opened the rubber roof (needed to cut it, but was OK) and checked for the rotten wood. There was a piece 11x20 inches that needs to be replaced. I cut this piece out, put out the wet insulation and let it dry (as good as it worked there.....). Bought then 1/8 inch Plywood sheet in Homedepot (wasn't thicker material on the roof...I really was surprised....expected thicker material.) I also bought Eternabond, Dicor self leveling lap sealant and Butyl Tape.
After drying I put in new insulation, placed the plywood in and took new screws to fix it. Then fixed the rubber roof back with liquid nails and used Eternabond to close the rubber roof cuts (after cleaning the roof and preparing for the tape). Eternabond was also used at the edges around the trim strips to seal everything right. The trim strips itself were resealed with butyl tape before screwing them back.
In advance I recaulked all the suspicious spots with dicor lap sealant and and put Eternabond all around the edges from the rubber roof to the trim strips.
First proof of the work was the heavy rains from tropical storm Erika we got in the Naples area. All worked out and the water was kept out!!!
Therefore I had water running down the refrigerator vent cover.....grrrrrrr.
I resealed all vent covers and the skylights days before with Eternabond or Lap sealant.....so didn't know where the water was coming from.
At the moment I'm the opinion the water went through the vent cover openings while it really rained heavily.
I put the trailer back into storage on monday while there was a heavy thunderstorm again and the water was dropping at the vent again....
To keep it out I put a tarp over the fridge vent cover in hope it works until march when we are back again.
Maybe I need to replace the cover.....I have no other idea where there could be a leak in the sealing.....all was resealed perfect.
