Description
What is it attached to?- WH has plumbing holes with 1/2" pipe thread.
Going from there different TC builders use different materials.
Copper usually have flare fitting. Plastic pipes, compress washers.
If you are not familiar how to deal with it, better call professional.
Small crack on the tubing in hard to access space can turn pretty costly mistake. - They all use some type of compression fitting for the transition, but PEX requires a crimp collar and a specialized tool to apply it
Pictures would be helpful. That way Mr. Biscuit won't wear a hole in his head....lol - Im having trouble posting pictures of the tank. The fitting is located behind the hot water tank, it is a 90deg into the tank.
I tried this below, but got discouraged about half way through.

Similar to ours.
Ours and most use a swivel connection that threads onto water tank. Ive seen pictures of fittings without swivel that were threaded onto tank and then lines crimped on-
hopefully yours isn't one of those- a bit more involved.- I went to a few places like HD and Lws but could not find a matched a fitting, I need the swivel 90 going in the tank.

online shows it at HD/lowes if you have the sharkbite tools, ring also needed. Assuming line end

I prefer those kind of Pex clamps, they're about 10,000 times easier to remove than the copper band type. A pair of end cutters and a good twist will usually break the clamp band, then its just a matter of prying it loose with some needle nose pliers and a flat head screw driver.
