Copper usually have flare fitting. Plastic pipes, compress washers.
If you are not familiar how to deal with it, better call professional.
Small crack on the tubing in hard to access space can turn pretty costly mistake. - SidecarFlipExplorer IIIThey all use some type of compression fitting for the transition, but PEX requires a crimp collar and a specialized tool to apply it
Pictures would be helpful. That way Mr. Biscuit won't wear a hole in his head....lol - Old-BiscuitExplorer III
- bluearcExplorerIm having trouble posting pictures of the tank. The fitting is located behind the hot water tank, it is a 90deg into the tank.

I prefer those kind of Pex clamps, they're about 10,000 times easier to remove than the copper band type. A pair of end cutters and a good twist will usually break the clamp band, then its just a matter of prying it loose with some needle nose pliers and a flat head screw driver.
