Suburban uses the anode rod due to WH tank being a steel glass-lined tank.
The anode rod is sacrificial vs the steel tank (steel glass lined is like residential WH tanks)
Drain hole is 3/4" so a decent size rod can fit. Steel headed drain/rod plug.
Atwood does NOT use an anode rod due to WH tank being an aluminum clad alloy.
Drain hole is only 1/2". Uses a nylon drain plug.
After market sells anode rods that will fit in an Atwood drain hole....because people will buy stuff even when it is NOT needed.
