Cummins12V98
May 15, 2020Explorer III
Running well over 500k on Cummins engines I had WIF light come on ONCE. I was fueling my 98 and was idling doing so. Truck died, finished filling and it wouldn't start and noticed WIF light on. Towed truck home and discovered I had pumped over 30 gallons of water into the truck.
Snow melt and a non finished tank project allowed water to enter underground tank. Station paid me to remove the water at $50 an hour and new filter. They also paid for several other trucks much more expensive than mine to fix that day.
So yea my one time was a DOOZIE!!!
Buy fuel from frequently used stations and you will be fine.
