Can you access the shower drain pipe from the basement area (maybe removing a bulkhead or panel). If the gray tank is full and shower pan is holding water, it is not normal for water to leak out the belly. You have a leaking fitting somewhere between the shower drain and the gray tank. If it were me, I would overfill the gray tank, and find out where the leak is. Unless your tank is cracked, the leak should be fairly easy to find and repair. Check back with your findings.
