water pump purging tank

I just bought a 1998 Prowler 32ft travel trailer. It needed work but is coming along nicely. When I turn on the switch marked water pump, the pump purges the fresh water tank through the campsite hook up for water. Is there a valve I need to set to make water come out of the faucets or is there another switch someplace? Nothing comes out of the faucets now. Also, does anyone have a picture of the tank levels guages or list what the order is? Mine is missing the cover that lables them. Thanks.

    Yes you'll have to replace the check valve. Once it's replaced, don't ever press on the valve stem on the new valve especially if the system is under pressure. If you do it will blow out the o-ring seal and you'll be replacing the check valve again.

    YEP......bad or missing check valve in 'city water' connection

    3/4" PVC plug......then water can flow/pressurize rest of plumbing system

    There should be a check valve at the city water input (usually visible). Without the check valve water will come out. The check valve could be stuck open or missing. Short term fix is to buy a plug for the city water inlet and put it in tightly.
    The check valve can be replaced with the inlet for less than $20.00
