water tank replacement

I have just got a 2003 arctic fox that has a hole in the top of the fresh water tank. any idea what it takes to replace it? does not look like its going to be easy to get at.

  • Well didnt want to ask-but thought maybe in the fix a lil description of the 'hole' and or how it got there might have been included. But an 'Easy' fix on the water tank material would be good to pass on.

    Call them and ask.

My guess? THe prior owner probably thought "How do I reach in there and clean the tank? Then got out a hole saw, and you now have a easy wash tank system. That leaks when going around a corner. Opps!

You might be able to get a 12" square patch, and glue it over the hole. Or O-ring and screw down the patch, so you can remove and clean again?

  • Oh, one more thing. On my Host, my tank is accessible from the front. Your's could be similar, but based on what people have posted, I don't think it is. Using a waterproof hatch, is a good idea.

Would it be easier to just patch the hole? Not sure how big it is, but there might be some sealants to patch it. Or if it is a big hole, you could maybe even cut it bigger and install a marine access hatch like NetBoy.

Was thinking of the same thing with the hatch.

  • I think the floor will come off and it is probably held up by straps. People have said that the factory is good about answering questions. I'd call them.
