wave 3 heater

I sent your wave door install to a friend who has been struggling to figure out a mounting spot. Clever!

PS- always always always keep the heater covered when not in use. Ours is used really only at Quartzsite once a year, so it got the factory Olympian cover that does a pretty good job of sealing out any airborne contaminates (dust) from the pad

We have 3 Co detectors...2 with CO level readings... Never seen any reading from our Wave...
But making coffee in the Am with a vent open I have seen a negligible reading... All is great using a wave!
Love leaving the camper door open and the inside of the camper can still remain warm unlike forced air furnace heating... It is like having a little fire place in the camper!

Take a shower, come out and dry off in front of the Wave is marvelous!
Our Wave is mounted in a very accessible location..

The section of the manual says:


Glowing on Heating Element
The red glowing on the face of the heater (particularly noticeable in the dark) will resemble charcoal glowing when hot. This is a normal phenomenon of catalization. A properly operating heater will slightly “glow” on about 40% of the bottom area
of the heating element. At times, a high glow “spot” may be seen on the heating element. This is normal. The glowing phenomenon diminishes over a period of years usage.

I have used mine extensively and the entire pad has never glowed. I have used it from near sea level to 11K feet.

There's nothing that says the entire pad HAS to glow, that's a function of the LP jetting. I have 3 NOX detectors, one with a display at the top of the wall only a few feet away, and it has never budged off of zero with this heater running.

Respectfully, if your pad is not uniform I don't think it is working properly. My concern is that you not only do not have the heat, but may have unburned gasses. I really encourage you to call the Wave people.

Same with our Wave 6. But kept our 30 ft 5er warm while we were in Q.
