wdh

Ive purchased a used drawtite v5 hitch and on 2 occasions one of the bars has fell out of the hitch, Am I not getting it hooked up correctly/
  • Good to hear you got the correct parts and it is repaired. It is like Anaro said you do not cobble together a WDH, to much energy/power runs through those hitches.
  • I would not be makeshifting anything on a wdh. Get replacement parts or a new hitch.
  • Found out what it was. Spring tension weak would not hold bar in place. Put hose clamp on to hold in place. I can loosen clamp to let bar down. Went to the lake for weekend to try out used tt. Jayco eagle 265 fs 1992. Not to many problems.
  • No it should not fall out. Something is wrong.

To post pics go to Tinypic.com
Click browse and select pic from your computer/phone
    Under resize select message board
Click upload now and enter the anti-spam code
Copy the code for message forums and paste it here (if you include the img in the code then you do not need to use the pic link on the forum, a direct copy is enough).
Post your post and voila you have a pic that is the correct size for the forum.
  • Sorry, don't know how to post pictures. It looks like it is spring loaded but only one side falls out. There is a groove that goes half way around the bar that goes into the hitch.
  • Can you post a picture of your hitch as you have it set up or how you bought it? That way we can tell if it's missing parts or broken. No it should not fall out if hooked up properly and everything is there.

Not sure on the drawtite but on my Pro Series there is a spring pin that holds the bars in place. I can hear and feel it engage when I raise the bars in place. Does your hitch have some type of pin to hold the bars in place?

Nevermind...just found a pic of your hitch...it doesn't work like mine.
