No, it works on open or posi diffs. To an extent. But cutting brakes work better. It's what open diff guys use in that class of wheeling to transfer a little power.
Can't do it all day like a posi or locker and it doesn't turn an open diff into a locker. More like getting both rear tires to spin in snow, not locked up to crawl over a rock with the other wheel in the air.
