We've stayed in Ez Daze just west of West Memphis and found it quite nice, it's in Southaven, MS.
If you are coming west on I-70 to STL and you want to see river scenery detour north on MO 79 to Louisiana, cross to the IL side,go east to the IL river then down to the confluence with the MS at Grafton. Pere Marquette SP is a nice stop with good sites, Lodge etc. Continue down the Great River Road, one of the first designated Scenic Byways, catch IL RT 3 and see Fort de Chartres and the Pierre Menard house then off to I-55 and its approximation of following the MS.
