This is what I am dealing with. I have an area in front of my fridge and stove that is about 4' long that is spongy. Another area is also spongy. My floor is foam insulation sandwiched between luan. I have read that these floors can get spongy and water does not have to cause it. Is this correct?
I took a loss but it was my best option.
You are correct in they don’t need water intrusion to become spongy.
