All you big truck guys are funny. One days its one frame is weaker than the other, and too much engine too little frame, or too much frame too little engine.
Then its "trust the engineers"...when you feel its warranted.
And when its not the engineer...its marketing. Or the sue happy US. Whatever guys.
So, if you trust the engineers one day, why don't you trust them the next day, when they try to save weight and increase MPG by going unibody? A unibody engineered to tow cant tow as well as a body on frame designed to tow the same amount? Come on man...
Ok ok...I don't mean to feed the troll. My point is no matter what, you guys seem to turn on a dime when it comes to when you trust the engineer and when you don't. When you blame marketing and the court system...and when you don't.

Who cares what its made of or what shape it is.
If the OEM says its rated for X, then its rated for X. End of story.
