Weighed my 2013 3500 Ram Dually

Weighed my truck today, (see sig) ....full tank of diesel and DEF and ONLY things missing were our two boxers and the wife, (some of that information needs to remain "top secret":))....I know those weights so with "just me", truck weighed 9140#, steer axle was 5280# Rear axle was 3860# and gross weight was 9140#...add the wife and the dogs and you get 9420#.....GVWR is 14,000# with a RAWR of 9750#.....Next will be to re-weigh my 5er when I tow it home in November. I know I won't be over any of the posted weights (GCWR is 37,000#), but want to re-weigh....

Also topped off the DEF tank, I had gone 3102 miles since last "top off"....gage was showing that I had just under 3/4's of a tank....it took 2.65 gallons and I had driven 3102 since last top off.... equaling, 1170.5 mpg of DEF, ( I have gotten as high as 1350mpg of DEF on last tank top off)...I always fill to where the pump kicks off and I stop... I've used the same pump each time I've "topped' the tank off at the same station...paid $2.84 a gallon for the DEF.

Anyway, thought someone might be interested in the weight and a report on DEF usage, which I can live with.:)

Cool. That thing is HEAVY! :)

Guess with the all new frame, the heavier tranny and beefed up suspension, that made it heavier. But figure with a 14,000# GVW and truck weighing 9420# ready to tow, I've got a little over 4500# I can still load and haven't gone over the trucks GVWR rating....With RAWR of 9750# guess I could go with a 5,000# pin weight and it wouldn't be an issue, (my last pin weight check was 3300#), so with that, plus weight to tow, I'm at 12,270#. I still have 1730# to play with before I hit my GVWR.....yeah, it's kinda cool:)....hey, I feel good about it:B

Last time I weighed my camper, it was a "tad over 16,000#..can't find my paper, but like, 16,030# (?)...So (now speculating), with truck @ 9420 plus the 5er, at 16,100 (round off), that would put me at 25,525#.....11,500# under the trucks GCWR, (not bad for a 1 ton dually)..SO, if I want to look at a heavier 5er....believe I can now without much worry of going over the trucks GVWR, (if it were close, would do like others and go by RAWR..why not, though I could possibly lose my "weight police" badge":)),

Did I stay, "I love this truck":)
