Weight Concern
Hello folks, I am considering buying a 2008 Toyota Tundra Doublecab long bed 4 x 2 pickup and a Travel Lite 625 truck camper. I want to make sure that I won't have an overweight problem. I will be ...

That leaves 370# available payload
And you haven't even put a tooth brush is camper yet. Or food, water, linen/towels, pot/pan, utensils, condiments, clothing
Or anything inside truck.....door pockets/console, floor, bed of truck
Weight of hitch
370# (IF THAT IS REAL) gets eaten up real quick.
The input that I have received makes it clear that I will be over the GVWR. Perhaps a tire and suspension upgrade will resolve that. I had read elsewhere that the critical issue was not exceeding the axle ratings. I have more room there, almost 1,900 pounds reserve on the rear axle and over 800 pounds reserve on the front axle. The camper weighs 1285 pounds dry. Lets say add 500 pounds for things not included in the dry weight and all my stuff. That gets it up to 1,800 pounds in round numbers. Since this campers center of gravity is so far forward of the rear axle (Being that it's so short at 6.2 feet floor length and the truck has a long bed), I'm thinking about 1,500 pounds on the rear axle and 300 pounds on the front axle. That leaves 400 pounds available on the rear axle and 500 pounds available on the front axle. Add in my own body weight and the weight of enhancements to the trucks suspension and I should still be below the axles ratings. Am I on track with this?
