I'm no where near 75 years old, but I'll tell ya as the years go by I know now that I do not want to mess around with WDH's for much longer...especially the Hensley/Propride options. Take away the occasional pain of hooking up the Hensley and Propride, you still have heavy parts and pieces to handle with nearly every other WDH out there.
As far as unhitching, there is no reason you have to in any normal circumstance. You can stop at any time, throw the jacks down, and never touch the hitch. No need to relieve the WD bar tension either, they are in effect tempered as spring steel and will not retain memory (bend).
When I do unhitch, I lock the components in the trailer.
