weight distribution
Looking at a travel trailer 20 ft long dry weight 2400 lbs do I need a weight distribution system according to the sale person I would not need one but a sway bar hook up.

That all depends on your tow vehicle however it will always tow better with one. If you have a 3/4 ton truck then you probably do not need one but if you have a minivan with a 3500 pound tow limit then it is definitely needed.
