I do not think the Andersen WDH would suit him best.
I too, would recommend you get one. The one I think would suit you the best, is this one.
It's clean (no need to carry grease or lubricant of any kind), quiet (no moaning and groaning of WD bars), lite weight (60 lbs total weight), and has been reported to work very well with liter tongue weights.
For the Tahoe, Chevrolet specifies that a WDH should be adjusted to give 100% Front Axle Load Restoration.
The OP's trailer is likely to have a tongue weight in excess of 600#.
Twelve users of the Andersen WDH have reported load distribution results for tongue weights in the range of 500-800#. The calculated FALR values were in the range of 40-60%.
Of the Andersen users reports I've seen, only two users have reported FALR values in excess of 90% -- and those were for tongue weights of 400#.
Ron - ssemaloneExplorerI got the fastway e2 and I do not have to remove this hitch to back up..
- anaroExplorerBarney- I thought you couldn't back up with friction sway bar and have always seen these disconnected when backing up. You have way more hitch knowledge than me so I bow to you on that but curious for clarification on it.
- myredracerExplorer III thought there was one that you can't back up with and thought it was the Centerline. Maybe it's another one or it was that you had to be in a straight line with the Centerline?

AFAIK, the only WDH you can't back up with is the Husky Centerline.
:h Where did you hear that? I have never heard of a WD hitch that you could not back up with. Even the very common friction sway bar equipped WD hitch can back up as long as you do not exceed the limits of the sway bar.

I wouldn't back out of my driveway without one (even older guy). - djsamuelNomad

Soooo that leads to the next question.. Which one is best????
You'll get too many inputs here. Everybody will say, the best one is the one they have.
The most expensive would be the Hensley. That would be over kill for your set up.
You are pretty much borderline as to wether you need oone, or not.

Agree 100% on the Andersen hitch, especially in situations where little weight distribution is required and sway control and bounce attenuation are the bigger priorities. My Ram 1500 sits nice and level with a WDH. The picture linked to my signature at the bottom of this post was taken with no WDH installed. However, I have the Andersen WDH mainly for bounce and in the event of sway, which I haven't experienced yet while towing without it, but know the more I tow, the greater the chance. - BarneySExplorer III

and then how do I calculate what rating I need???
A WDH will have a max. tongue wt. but you won't be near that. If you mean the spring bars, your tongue weight shouldn't be great than the bar rating and you don't want it too low either because you won't be able to "wind up" the bars tight enough to transfer wt. to the steer axle. It sounds like 600 lb. bars are what you want. I came across this article yesterday on another post and it has some excellent info. including how to size the bars. The author says the tongue wt. should not exceed 75-85% of the bar rating. First time I've seen something like this mentioned anywhere. How to tow safely

Yep. I very much like my BlueOx swaypro.
Heard good reports about the the Blue OX, but it's a very heavy WDH.
As the WDH weight reduces your payload, don't think I'd want one if exceeding payload or rear GAWR were an issue. - gmw_photosExplorer
