Man no kidding, you can easily spend that much on a truck but if you dont ned all the foofoo stuff then your not spending that much. I just spent $43k on a brand new 2017 Cummins diesel tradesman 4x4 longbed with everything i need on it.
Mine was $39k and change before tax/etc but prices have gone up by about that much since I bought in spring 2015. I would bet our trucks are similarly optioned albeit mine is a short bed. In most cases the total cost of ownership difference between gas or diesel is a wash - the "price premium" for an HD diesel is a bogus myth.
