For the first time in almost 20 years, I no ,longer have anything with a standard shift. I already miss it.

At least the truck I drive at work is a 6-speed.

I guess I went the other way...missed the manual so much I parked the auto TV in the garage and got a 6 speed sedan for my commute. Loving my drive so much more these days, but my knees are still in good shape.

Manuals are fun for about 15 minutes then I am done with them.

I still like driving a manual but the new automatics are hard to beat. I hope to see a true Prius type hybrid drive in a HD pickup with a respectable tow rating before I hang it up. No shifting at all.

I gave up my manual truck when I was 18 haven't missed it one bit. You'll do fine with a auto in spite of yourself.

Time to get a well-used OTR tractor with a 'real' transmission.

I don't miss the manual tranny even a little bit in my truck.

Even Porsche recognizes that the manual is on it's way out - not available on their highest performance cars.

Aging ain't for sissies! After 50+ years of manuals (and loving them) I'm ready for a new Dodge auto cuz they're finally capable of towing. My next truck will also be my first 4wd cuz we've been having so much fun off-road camping. I wish I never had to see another developed or commercial RV CG! Craig

I already did;
The '01 Dodge quad cab 1500, 360V8, auto, 4X4 short box to replace the 3500 CTD 5 speed manual AND the Jeep Rubicon 6 speed manual; both of them are gone.
The tow bar is mounted on the Dodge, got it done this weekend.
Now to do the wiring, and it will be ready to go.
I might do a test drive first, to see how the motorhome handles towing it. If it doesn't work well, there is no use wiring it for towing!

No, I don't think so. I have been driving manual transmissions since 1958. Oh, yes, I had some slush-boxes, too, sometimes it was unavoidable. But, I always enjoyed doing my own shifting, even in the old straight tooth Ford 4 speeds that required double clutching. At one time I was pretty good at going up and down the gears in one of those things without any gear grinding!
It would be interesting to find one to drive and try it again, see if I remember how...

So, what are you going to buy a s a replacement?
