I think Ford has the title for most expensive diesel truck. The Platinum Limited or whatever they call it, is really stupid expensive, but it has a crazy amount of technology and comfort. My 2018 Chevy 3500 LTZ had a window sticker of 68K. It was a couple K higher than the identically equipped 2015 I bought. They are not getting cheaper, but certainly you can spend less money on a new diesel. It is all a matter of what you find value in, Ford didn't release the Limited because they thought people wouldn't buy it. The trend is for more highly loaded pickups. The Denali trim package for GMC represents a huge portion of sales, cause most people who can afford a new pickup, want it comfortable and are willing to pay for it. I see those high spec trucks running down the road all the time. Each one is a gold mine for the OEM, but they build em because people buy them.
