I see 20 510#, .You asked me what I thought "heavy" was, I stated my own personal opinion from towing in the mountains with 4.10...I know what 16,300#, (CAT scale weight) feels like while towing. Go ahead and move from 14,300# to a 21K TH, tow in the mountains, THEN get back to me and tell me your thoughts on 3.42's then....I have a 20K GVW TH and 4.10 will work out perfectly for me...
and no, I wouldn't go by Ram, GM/Chevy or Fords 5er specs, UNLESS, I have the payload to handle the pin weight without going over trucks GVWR,( that way I know I'm WELL under trucks RAWR & tire rating...as you are also).
