I too have made a few trips in the high country of West Virginia...
The CASS RAILROAD is a neat start and stop ride as it makes its way up the mountains...
Most of my camping however is more closer to home being right on the West Virginia/Virginia wooded state line behind Harrisonburg VA. This is close to place in the GWNF called FLAGPOLE Knob on the Virginia side...
The State line is only sort of only marked by a Forest trail road where we camp alot off-grid and you really have no idea which state you are in haha...
It certainly is neat to look out over several rolls of mtns like in your Spruce Knob photo.
