We have never used the shower. If there is a campground we use its shower and have plenty of space. When boondocking we don't take showers and it is not a big deal.
There are camper models that have the toilet facing to the center of the camper, like the Lance 865, and this makes for a lot more room to extend your legs.
With every RV there are compromises of one sort or another. And we have two sets of friends who tow 5th wheel trailers and they choose not to use the dry baths and instead use the campground facilities. They don't want the cleanup aspects of using the RV showers.
