thanks everyone for the advise and comments. I purchased a powermax 55amp converter out of Indiana. i figured it was a good deal at $125.00US with free shipping to Sumas, WA.(i live in Canada)
I tried to purchase one here in Canada but the dealers wanted between $350.00-$400.00 for it.
The only problem i had was i needed to cut 3/4" off the metal mounting plate so it would slide into the existing slots.
Other than that, a 5 minute install and now i am getting the output required to keep the batteries charged, and the lights are quite a bit brighter. I didn't realize how much a difference it would make.
