When we owned our Hybrid TT, we secured it while camping with a coupler lock. The same coupler lock we used to make sure the coupler didn't unhitch from the ball. I've never heard of a TT or any camper being stolen from a campground. Our current TT stays at our seasonal campground and it is raised off the ground with cinder blocks.
We have camped overnight in the Hybrid TT in a Walmart parking lot, Flying J, etc., but we left it hitched to the tow vehicle. We would not leave our Hybrid TT in a parking lot unhitched unless my wife or I were staying with it and Management was okay with us leaving it unhitched.
We also never left our Motorhome unattended in a parking lot, unless we were going into the store to purchase something, which we almost always did if staying in a Walmart parking lot.
