I went the route of pop-up (3 yrs) hybrid (5 yrs) and now TT (4 years). If my hybrid hadn't decided to dissolve (design issues), I would still have it.
Yes, the noise, possible rain, & set up issues exist, but you cannot beat a hybrid for efficient usable space. Not taking up floor space with beds is brilliant and ours had tons of storage, too. Being able to pull it with a full size SUV instead of a HD pickup was also very nice, kind of like using the family station wagon vs. having a dedicated tow vehicle.
