Biggest reason I see to get a hybrid is if you have a marginal tow vehicle and don't want to upgrade the tow vehicle. A lot of medium size SUV's can handle a 20' hybrid but would be pushing it to move up to a 26' hard side. It's a compromise to get almost as much space.
Nope. That's an assumption, and it's clear you've never owned one. For some this might be the case, but not for all of us. I can easily tow a decent sized TT. We're just not ready to be boxed into a full walled trailer yet. Some of us still like the outdoors. It's why we're in our 2nd hybrid.
We have some friends with them. When we open our windows, we are just as much in the outdoors with the exception, we can close the windows if it's too noisy and it blocks out the noise much better. Or amazingly, just a few steps and we are ACTUALLY outdoors.
There is nothing to stop you from pulling them with a larger truck and if you are happy, nothing wrong with it. You can also pull a popup with a 1 ton dually but that's not the market they gear popups towards.
Both of our friends and most of the ones we see in campgrounds are pulled by smaller trucks what would be marginal going much bigger. As someone else said, you get the living space of a bigger trailer without the need for a bigger truck.
