I have been hit by side gusts of 68mph, have driven straight into 60mph winds. On the side gusts I was waiting for the TC to blow out or at least find the windows blown out, on the front wind I cut the speed down I was driving and watched the gas gauge drop with each mile.
For camping worst wind was 50 - 65 mph sustained with gusts of 70mph. Was parked with the front facing the wind, made it through most of night then at 6am moved to sheltered area.
We have wind warnings in our area that advise semi drivers & people towing trailers to pull off the road. Last bad one a 5th wheel was blown over when going down highway, fire department got back to hall when a call came in that a semi was blown over in same area, as they were cleaning up that mess a semi that was waiting in the line of cars blew over. I really am not a fan of wind!!!
