On my first TC trip, totally overloaded an S10 with a rented 6.5 foot Northern Lite. Checked in at Haynes point in Osoyoos, there were two sites left a sheltered site and a beach site. The guy in front of me was tenting and had the choice of sites. The ranger warned him of a wind storm coming but he still took the beach site. We woke up in the middle of the night to hear him calling for help and holding on to his tent which was being blow out over the water. rangers came to help him and he was gone when we woke up. Didn't know anything about TCing but the camper was held on by rear hooks in the bumper and stake pocket mounts for the front, no wind issues at all.
When you are driving at 70MPH aren't you always in a 70MPH wind?
