As this poster emphasizes look for an INDEPENDENT mechanic. Don't listen to brand loyalists.
As your nearly retired, the next step is retired and I'm assuming you will be on a fixed income. So you want the best truck you can get...durability and reliability.
I would also suggest you look at Dodge and GM.
Why restrict yourself to one brand ?
When you're buying used...you're buying unused miles and you want to avoid buying someone else's problem.
Also do your own research on this model Ford with this engine, powertrain. Look for problems that exist with this setup.
