As your nearly retired, the next step is retired and I'm assuming you will be on a fixed income. So you want the best truck you can get...durability and reliability.
When you're buying used...you're buying unused miles and you want to avoid buying someone else's problem.
Also do your own research on this model Ford with this engine, powertrain. Look for problems that exist with this setup.
Considering what you asked, these are the best recommendations rather than telling you to buy a Ram or GM or being reminded again and again and again about Ford not honoring warranty because of "alleged" water in the fuel.
