My Ford was towed once (that was enough). While waiting for Good Sam to finally send the correct wrecker, I had plenty of time research what Good Sam should have dispatched the first time (the third time was a charm). I was half way up a mountain pass nice and cozy in the truck camper, but having to tell dispatch that I had a 25' Class C should not have been required to finally get the correct wrecker. Although I gave physical dimensions and weight, the first truck sent would have been doing wheelies trying to lift my front end. The second truck sent was a roll back that loaded me up so I was finally off the shoulder and on top of the pass. The top of the TC was over 15' high and the wrecker was squirrelly all the way up at 30 mph because my rear axle sat behind his. Finally a MDT wrecker came up the pass to haul me down to a dealer. By this time everything was closed for the weekend and the truck sat until Monday (even though I had contacted the dealer in the morning that I was being towed in). My 8am call to Good Sam resulted in drop off at the dealer at 10pm.
So, that's where my information came from... No offense taken.
BTW: The cause of the tow was the high pressure oil fittings that drive the fuel injectors.
Although I have had to make some other repairs, this is the only one that prevented me continuing on under my own power. I had assumed dispatch knew what a truck camper was and even if they didn't would have sent a wrecker that could handle the specifications I gave them.
