My truck is almost eight years old. I bet that the tailgate hasn't been on the truck for more than a total of 10 days. I just put it on last week because I was buying a 2X6X12 feet long. It made me feel better to have it on with that long board. It fit perfect. I removed it immediately when I got back. It is stored in my son's garage.
