I bring full fresh water always, regardless of destination. A few hundred pounds of water makes no difference with our setup and I like to be prepared.
We don't dink along, either, but we have a young family so we work within the constraints of my job and my kids' school and activity schedules.
Fridge, freezer and pantry is always loaded up for the trip. We run the fridge/freezer on propane as we go.
