??? Don't know of any F150 with a 6K rGAWR ???
4800# is what you get with the F150's HD Payload option.
A 'half ton' with a +8K GVWR will have a RGAWR in the +6K range. I call
these 'fake half tons' and are for folks who insist on only owning a
'half ton', even though the 'need' a bigger TV. These 'fake half ton'
comes with the higher rated diff and 'LT' class tires
Why just saying 'half ton' has a huge potential of not talking about
the same TV
To the OP, yes saw your title, but betcha many of the posters
didn't and/or don't get that point...that there are 'half ton' and then
there are 'half ton'...brulaz is an example of most who doesn't get
that there is a 6K RGAWR 'half ton'...
Why always say to ignore the marketing badging (F150, 1500, half ton, etc)
and just use their GVWR's
I've had a few PM's from folks who took advice on this forum saying
'sure you can'...'I have been doing so with my half ton with no issues'...
One guy wanted to sue because of that advice. He burned up his diff
on the way to a long vacation. Got stuck in the middle of no where and
spent their vacation money paying for the rebuilding of their F150
diff and had to go back home. Lost their deposits too
The advisor has a 'HD' or +8K GVWR 'half ton' with a +6K RGAWR. That
guy who had his vacation ruined (did I say his wife was made as a wet
hen at him) by that misleading advice. That guy had a 'half ton' with
a +4K RGAWR. About 2K less rating than the advisor
