Little Giant ladders come in up to 36" height and are very sturdy. We use a 3-step model which works great with or without a trailer. We've also used it around the house at times.
I'm thinking about getting the Little Giant, but trying to decide between the 3- or 4-step model. Good reviews on Amazon.com for all sizes of the Little Giant Safety Stepladder. Searched the reviews with the word "camper" and found a half dozen truck campers posted good reviews. Almost all truck campers bought the 3-step version, one person bought the 4-step. Need to break out the tape measure at home to see if the 27" or 36" top step will work best. Also need to measure for folded storage. I'm thinking taller may be better as I like to use the jacks to level sometimes which makes that bumper to first step distance to my current Campers World plastic folding 2-step stairs a dangerous exit and entrance. By the way, the plastic stairs are cracked and held together redneck style with duct tape, so I don't feel too bad about upgrading.
I find I use my current plastic step stairs for setting up the awnings and flagpole, sitting on to adjust shoes or waiting for the dog to poo, and snapping the cover on my boat. Think the stepladder is a better fit for me instead of scissor steps. Otherwise I'd have to carry the weight of both. Actually, the foldaway safety bar might be nice for setting up the awnings when I've had a few beers in my system...LOL! :B
