Over 50 years ago, my uncle was the head of QC at Ford's Cleveland Engine. A salesman dropped off a case of oil and suggested that they try it on a test engine. Well, one day they did.
After the normal test period, they tore the engine down and checked the clearances. Then the technicians called my uncle. Almost zero wear ! He said, "Reassemble it and put that used oil back in it !"
Second time around, same results. He call the company (which I believe was Amzoil) and inquired about pricing. Well, that was the end of that !
