The 10 speed was co-developed by GM and Ford...GM calls their version an ‘Allison’...(GM use to own Allison but still has rights to market the name).
"Co-developed" is not really accurate. Yes, they started with the same base design, but there are significant differences and likely very few if ANY common parts.
Certainly the computer controls are different !
