Had a 72 Ford Pinto that burned quite a bit of oil so just added about 3 quarts a week. Never changed it.:B Ran it over 100K miles with no problems. Timing belt broke about 100K. Mechanic asked if I wanted it rebuilt. Nope, drove it another 50K before selling it. But back in 72 we didn't have all the quicky lube places around. Many garages required time to do the work. Working 60 or 70 hours a week easier to just drive it until it broke. BTW mechanic dropped the pan at 100K and scraped the crud out of the pan when he replaced the timing belt. It still ran good at 150K. That Pinto was a point A to Point B car only.:B The guy that bought it never called me back.
