We went from boat camping to RV camping about 4 years ago. It only took two years of RV camping before we made it a lifestyle choice and went fulltime. It is addictive.
The differences between boat camping and RV camping:
1) it is harder to find a place to 'drop anchor.' In a boat, you can wander up a river and stay as long as you like without having to pay for it. With an RV, unless you are out west, you have to pay for a campground.
2) In an RV, it is much easier to get out and walk around.
3) On rainy days, a boat gets really small if you are anchored out. With an RV, you just hop in the car and go somewhere else for the day.
As for things we moved over, we kept one of our docklines, our Honda generator, a 30A extension cord, our life vests, and all the regular household things. The rest - boat stuff - stayed with the boat.
Some day we will move back to a boat but for now, we love RVing...
Best of luck on your new adventure!
