So to answer the many inputs I also have an old f250 I can use but prefer not to. The tires on the ram were changed with upgraded springs, rotors calipers. I know it doesn't change a lot but it undeniably contributes to a safer experience.
My wife and I intend to stick to local camping within an hour or so for now. We have like 8 amazing state parks and camp grounds. The truck was a discussion. I use it as a DD and feel my 8 mile trip to work in a 3/4 would be such a waste based on our anticipated usage of weekends a few times a month in summer.
Was going to try out local pulls and see how it went for the first year. Did get equalizer hitch mentioned in op. Also paid for the electric sway control on trailer as mentioned.
Dealer offer me 37k for my truck so it'll only be like another 5k to upgrade should I go that route.
