The first thing I would do is take back the 1000 lb tongue weight hitch and get the 1200 or 1400 version. Your tongue weight will easily surpass 1000. How can they even sell you a 10,000 lb rated hitch when the trailer GVWR is higher than that? Mind boggling.

And the 2nd is trade for a 3/4 ton truck. Sooner rather than later.
