Counter top stuff pretty much needs to be put in the sink, in a cabinet, or in a box or bin on the floor.
If your overhead cabinet doors don't have locking latches on them to keep them closed, you should add them. We always stuff our pillows and extra blankets in the overhead cabinets to fill any open space to keep the stuff in them from rattling around to much.
